The bursary that Transnet offers covers the following:

- Book allowance
- Experiential training
Students will have the option to study at the university of their choice, who offers the relevant fields of study.
Selection:
After you have applied for the bursary Transnet will screen applicants. Based on criteria’s such as academic performance on secondary and tertiary level you will be invited to be interviewed. These interviews will take place in Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Cape Town and Durban.
The final selection of candidates will be determined on the following:
- Interview
- Satisfactory academic results
- Medical fitness
What will be required from the person applying?
For every year of financial aid is received the student is required to provide one year of service. If the student wishes to cancel their aid, consultation between the student and training institution will be required.
If the student fails to follow the requirements the bursary will become payable in the terms of the agreement. The bursary will be extended year on year depending on the students’ academic performance.
